How do you connect with nature?
When I am outside, regardless of where specifically, I feel like I am a different person completely. There’s something about the open and limitless space that provides comfort to me in unspeakable ways. Throughout my life being outside never seemed like such an important thing but as I have gotten older, I am realizing how nurturing it is for my body, mind and spirit. When I go for my morning walks each day, I think of it in the same way as a spiritual quest - “This is my church,” I tell myself. Feeling the ground beneath my feet, the cold air that steams from my breath, the shape and texture of freshly fallen snow, the sound of geese flying overhead, the changing of the colors all around - it is a sensory trip that I love going on each day and it keeps getting better the more I immerse myself in nature’s glory.
